Celebrating Five Years of Growth, Two Brands and Our West Northants Roots
Sometimes it takes somebody else telling your story to make you stop and appreciate just how far you’ve come.
That was definitely the case recently when Haus of Coaching and Haus of HR were featured by Invest in West Northants as one of the businesses showcasing what it means to start, grow and build something here in West Northamptonshire.
And, as someone who spends a lot of time encouraging coaching clients to recognise their own progress and achievements, it was a timely reminder that I occasionally need to take my own advice!
From one idea….
When I started Haus of HR in 2021, it was essentially me, my laptop, more than 20 years of HR experience and an idea about doing things differently.
I wanted to create a business that gave organisations access to high-quality HR expertise without the jargon, unnecessary complexity or one-size-fits-all approach.
What I couldn't have predicted at the time was where that decision would ultimately lead. As the business developed, so did another important part of my work. Coaching had always featured within my leadership and HR career, but I increasingly found myself drawn to the conversations happening behind the organisational challenges - conversations about confidence, careers, leadership, identity, resilience and change.
That eventually became Haus of Coaching.
Today, the two brands allow us to support both sides of the equation. Haus of HR helps organisations build stronger workplaces and people practices, while Haus of Coaching helps the people within them develop, grow and navigate whatever comes next.
Growing Haus of Coaching
Haus of Coaching has developed into a distinct business offering Executive, Leadership and Career Coaching, alongside leadership development, psychometric profiling, team development and organisational development support.
And 2026 has already been quite a year. Haus of Coaching was named Leadership & Career Coaching Provider of the Year - East Midlands and received the Organisational Development Excellence Award - East Midlands at the Midlands Enterprise Awards.
Recognition like this is incredibly special, but the part of the business I value most is still what happens in the coaching room. It’s seeing somebody recognise a strength they had stopped noticing. Watching a leader approach a difficult situation differently. Helping someone find clarity when their career feels stuck. Or witnessing that moment when a client realises they are far more capable than they had been giving themselves credit for.
Those moments don't necessarily come with trophies or certificates, but they're ultimately why Haus of Coaching exists.
Why being based in West Northants matters
Although we now work with clients across the UK, Towcester remains home. And West Northamptonshire has played a significant part in our story.
Being centrally located makes it easy to work with organisations across Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes, the wider Midlands and nationally, while technology means many of our coaching relationships can happen wherever our clients happen to be.
But location is about far more than transport links. One of the things I've valued most over the past five years is the business community surrounding us. Relationships, collaboration and people supporting one another genuinely matter here.
Through my involvement with the Northamptonshire & Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce, mentoring, education, employability initiatives, charities and other community organisations, I've also had the opportunity to contribute to that ecosystem rather than simply benefit from it.
That's important to me. Success isn't just about how large you can make a business. It's also about the impact you can have through it.
Growth doesn't always look the way you expected
There is something particularly fitting about being featured by Invest in West Northants from a coaching perspective. A lot of coaching conversations involve growth. But growth rarely happens in a perfectly straight line. Sometimes it means taking a bigger opportunity. Sometimes it means saying no.
It can mean changing direction, developing new skills, building confidence or acknowledging that what worked at one stage of your career or business no longer works at the next.
My own journey has certainly included plenty of those moments. Five years ago there was one business. Today there are two established, award-winning brands, a growing team and clients across the country.
There have been exciting milestones, unexpected challenges, lots of learning and more than a few moments when I've had to challenge myself to step outside my own comfort zone.
Which is probably another reason I love coaching so much. I know what it feels like to be figuring out the next chapter while you're already living the current one.
And we're not finished yet….
The next chapter for Haus of Coaching is about continuing to grow thoughtfully. That means supporting more leaders and professionals through meaningful coaching, developing our leadership and organisational development work, continuing our use of psychometric tools and creating new ways for people to access coaching and development.
But I never want growth to come at the expense of the things that made the business work in the first place.
Personal relationships
Quality
Curiosity
Being willing to challenge when challenge is needed
And creating a space where people can think properly about what they want - rather than being told what somebody else thinks they should do
So, seeing our story featured by Invest in West Northants feels like a lovely opportunity to celebrate how far we've come while also looking ahead to everything still to come. And perhaps there is a coaching question in there for all of us:
When did you last stop long enough to recognise just how far you've already come?
